SCOPE: Founder / Leader / Songwriter / Singer / Guitar Player / Creative Director / Learn-From-Failure Specialist
I wanted to be a songwriter, not a copywriter. I started my band at the end of high school in 2006, fully convinced music, not college, was my calling. I went to college anyway, which was a good thing: it turns out it's really hard to make it as a musician. I've had to settle for spending the past 20 years making it up as I go along instead.
We've played some cool places – The Independent, Rickshaw Stop, Bottom of the Hill (8 times!) – and some not-so-cool ones, like the MMA gym where the octagon was the stage. (We called it the Rocktagon.) We've released some good stuff, including two albums and an EP (actually more... real ones know). We've hit the road, made plenty of noise, downed countless High Lifes, and somehow managed to pay the practice space rent on time, every time.

This band was the first outlet for creative self-expression I ever gave myself. It made me realize I was truly a creative person. It's been endlessly humbling. It's exhausting. It drives me insane. I also can't live without it. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
